Rebekah Pleitez

Mrs. Pleitez is a native of Lake County, FL. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 2002. She will soon complete her Master’s Degree in International Education from Framingham State College. She holds a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in ESOL. Rebekah taught second grade at First Academy from 2002-2004. Then she taught reading to 6th graders at Gray Middle for one year. After that, she traveled to El Salvador to teach 4th grade at the American School of San Salvador for two years. In 2007 she returned to First Academy and taught 1st grade for one year and then returned to 2nd grade for the next the next 6 years.

On a personal note, she married Bryan Pletiez in 2007, whom she met on a mission trip to El Salvador. They have two sons – Dante is 6 and will be in Mrs. Scarbrough’s class and Marcus is 5 months. The Pleitez family lives in Leesburg and enjoys spending time outdoors and doing things as a family! They have a heart for missions and hope to travel abroad more on their vacation time!
